Ian is a skilled media professional with many years hands on experience at the sharp end in broadcasting.

He cut his teeth in one of the toughest media relations jobs in the profession - spokesperson for the rail industry, and subsequently worked as a producer and presenter with BBC Radio Five Live, ITN News Direct and BBC local radio.

He once had the joy of grilling his old boss in a radio 'phone-in:

"My two careers came together in a bizarre way when my former boss appeared in a radio 'phone-in I was presenting to answer questions on rail punctuality. It seemed strange to be asking the questions when just weeks earlier I would have been advising him how to answer them!"
